The Parker

New kid on the block, Arrive keeps the mid-century modern ethos alive, while maintaining a contemporary take on a desert resort. Caliente Tropics Resort Hotel

Colony Palms Hotel

Led by renowned designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, this classic Spanish Mission-style hotel reopened in 2007. The 56 guest rooms include some that include claw-foot tubs and fireplaces. Surrounded by lemon and palm trees, the central courtyard contains a Spanish-tiled swimming pool with views of the San Jacinto Mountains, as well as the flagship Purple Palm Restaurant.


The Avalon

With its Hollywood Regency aesthetic, The Avalon is superbly located, at the foot of the mountains in downtown Palm Springs. There’s a choice of bungalow-style rooms, each with a gas fireplace and black-and-white color scheme - or stay in one of the stylish, modern suites in the main building. The Lautner

A little way out of town in Desert Hot Springs, The Lautner is a unique "micro-resort" and the place to celebrate the work of legendary architect John Lautner. The Monkey Tree

Designed by architect Albert Frey, this recently renovated retro boutique hotel offers views of the San Jacinto Mountains and an authentic ‘old school’ Palm Springs atmosphere. Formerly a Holiday Inn, The Saguarp is now a lively, colorful hotel,  3 miles from downtown Palm Springs. It was a haven for the stars in the 60s, but since 2008 it’s been ‘party central’ every weekend at The Rivera since a massive renovation brought this sprawling property of over 500 rooms into the 21st Century. There’s the 11,000-square-foot Azure Spa and Salon, classic cocktails from the Bikini or Chiki Pool Bar, and contemporary American cuisine at Circa 59 to keep you occupied as well.

Set in a chic stone and redwood building designed by William F. Cody in 1947, this hip adults-only hotel is less than a mile from downtown Palm Springs. Breezy rooms with midcentury modern accents and terrazzo flooring feature private patios or balconies.
